Also, if you have just been killed and are able to pause the game quick enough, you can also return to the menu and reload your last save, but you’ll have to be very quick. A number of players have mentioned that if you are close to dying or had a bad few minutes, quit the game back to the main menu and reload your save. Although you only have one save slot, always make use of it. Play with a setup you’re comfortable with. You probably already have but if not, configure your controls in the menu, it has Default, DS1, DS2 or Custom. It is certainly helpful though to knock an enemy over. Poles become harder to find later in the game and limbs do less damage without Kinesis being further upgraded. Kinesis can be used throughout the game but it takes a second to pick up a limb or pole and then aim to fire. Always keep one or two in your inventory for the odd times you may run out. Stasis refills are always available in areas where it is essential and fortunately, this is fairly frequent so you can refill regularly without having to spend on Stasis packs. Slow an enemy, maybe dismember a limb or two whilst focusing on another. As stated earlier, the Plasma Cutter will work well for you but if you would like to take a second, I would recommend the Force Gun for enemies like Swarms. There are enough Power Nodes to max out both your RIG (always keeping up with the new suits) and your primary weapon fully. Focus on your primary weapon until this point. ![]() Otherwise, I would not look to upgrade the Suit until the beginning of Chapter 4. The first upgrade for the Suit is HP and I would recommend using this early on. In the the first chapter, you should find a minimum of 2 Power Nodes. Therefore, only equip weapons you are using and return the others to the safe. The game tends to only drop ammo for weapons that are equipped. Unfortunately, I have not written a guide for the others. The Plasma Cutter upgrades are found in Chapter 2: Intensive Care - Heat Pack (after destroying the barricade, it is in the Clinic), Chapter 3: Collision Course - Ammo Capacity (it’s available in the store for 11K credits from this point on) and Chapter 8: Search and Rescue - Weighted Blades (in the maintenance room before you take on the Leviathan Remnant). No matter which weapon(s) you decide to go with, it is essential to locate your weapon’s upgrades. You can reset your Power Nodes for a weapon at the Bench for 5K credits if you opt to use another. It is the best all round weapon in the game and would recommend you use this as your primary. The Plasma Cutter is the weapon you will start with and you will need to level it up before you find any others to make your playthrough easier. This will limit you to levelling up your Suit, a primary weapon and maybe a second weapon. You can buy Power Nodes in the store for 10K credits a time, but credits will be needed for ammo and health packs, new suits, and you are not likely to be able to afford extras. There are only 67 Power Nodes to find in a playthrough of the game and that is assuming you find them all. The guide is designed to cater for everyone, not just those who may find this easier than others. For those of you who are familiar with Dead Space, this is not a Hardcore playthough of DS2 or DS3 it is significantly easier, but not to be underestimated. Doing so will take anywhere between 2-3 playthoughs and give you a good understanding of the game. I would highly recommend NOT doing this, even if you are experienced with Dead Space instead go through the game on a lower difficulty, familiarise yourself with the alterations the remake has to offer and collect all the other achievements first. Unlike the original 2008 game, you can start with Impossible difficulty straight away. Needless to say, some may struggle with it. You only have one save file to use (save whenever you like but no multiple saves) and if you die, you have to start from the very beginning (or continue on hard mode but this voids your achievement run). ![]() Impossible has the same difficulty as hard mode, where you take more damage and the enemies take less, but with a twist.
